Dr. Ric Delgadillo, DVM, MS

When Dr. Ric was a young boy in Pico Rivera, his Chihuahua broke his leg.

Dr. Clark, a local veterinarian, came out to the house to collect Tinker. A few days later, Dr. Clark returned, bringing Tinker home with his leg repaired. This experience inspired the boy and set him on the path he follows to this day.

At 17, he worked as a kennel attendant at a small veterinary hospital. Joining the Army, he was able to continue on his medical path by becoming a medic with the 82nd Airborne. After leaving the Army, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology from Whittier College. From there, he transferred to UC Davis where he received a Master's Degree in Comparative Pathology in 1979 and a Doctoral Degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1984.

After graduation, Dr. Ric practiced at several hospitals in So. Cal. before striking out on his own in 1993. He was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with his original mentor, Dr. Clark on many occasions. It was this collaboration that sparked Dr. Ric's enthusiasm for orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Ric and his growing family moved to Placerville in 1998. For two years he practiced at an emergency hospital and a general practice in Sacramento. His desire to serve his home community was strong. In 2000 he purchased a small hospital in Diamond Springs. That small hospital grew and today, through his passion for providing the best care for his patients and their families, Crossroads enjoys the reputation as one of El Dorado County's best veterinary hospitals.

Dr. Amanda Battaglia

Dr. Amanda may be new to our practice, but she has been in the business of caring and repairing pets for over twelve years. She graduated from U.C. Davis in 2001, and has been busy every since providing medical treatment at emergency clinics and small animal hospitals. Dr. Amanda is passionate about pet wellness and particularly enjoys surgery, the study of pet behavior, and the specialized field of dermatology. We have been very impressed with Dr. Amanda's compassion and knowledge. Her bedside manner is superb and she feels quite strongly about assisting both the pet owner and the patient in feeling comfortable at visits.

A life long animal lover, Dr. Amanda shares her home with a very large Newfoundland, two mischievious cats, and a dwarf rabbit. In addition to spending time with her animated four legged family, Dr. Amanda is a dedicated mom to two great kids, whom she and her husband love to spend time with, especially camping in the great outdoors.

In those rare moments of individual quiet time, Dr. Amanda can be found reading and keeping up to date with the latest veterinarian medical journals, or gardening; with kids and canine inevitably assisting!
