Q: Why is an Annual Wellness Exam important if my pet seems healthy?
A: Sadly, more and more pets are missing out on the routine veterinary care that accompanies a long, happy and healthy life. Our Wellness Plan is not just about vaccinations; although your pet may appear healthy to you, many conditions won’t show up to the naked eye at home.
Many times a thorough hands-on exam by a veterinarian will uncover intestinal masses, bladder stones, dental disease, kidney and liver disease, and thyroid disease. In fact, it’s estimated that about 13 percent of pets that look fine actually have hidden problems. And, a lot of these diseases are preventable or more easily treated in the earliest stages. Your input is a vital component of the wellness exam. Prior to the exam, pay attention to your pet’s habits; have they changed recently? Increased thirst or urination may indicate a serious problem such as diabetes. Decreased activity level or tiring more easily may indicate heart disease or arthritis.
Q: Are there any other benefits to enrolling In the program?
A: Yes, each comprehensive wellness exam includes a custom discount coupon for a future visit and you will receive members’ only promotions during the year which will save you additional money.
Q: Will my pet get vaccinations every year?
A: Some core vaccinations have a three-year duration, others have a one-year duration. The doctor will discuss lifestyle and needs on an individual basis.
Q: If my pet has had a recent medical exam, will I still need to bring him in for a comprehensive wellness exam?
A: Yes, a medical exam addresses a specific illness, injury or other concern. A comprehensive wellness exam is our most thorough exam and covers points that may not be addressed in a medical exam.
Q: Will I be required to bring my pet in for a comprehensive wellness exam if they do not need any vaccinations?
A: Yes, in order to continue in our Free Vaccinations 4 Life program, you must present your pet for a wellness exam every 12 months. You are allowed a 30-day grace period, however, if you do not comply with this requirement, your pet will be removed from the program and may not re-enroll at a later date. You would then have to pay for all vaccinations at the regular price.
Q: Can puppies and kittens enroll?
A: We are working on a program designed for our youngest patients. At this time, enrollees must be over one year of age and have had an initial series of vaccinations.
Q: Can I transfer the program to another pet?
A: No, this program is non-transferable and non-refundable for any reason.
Q: Will this program be available at any time in the future?
A: Crossroads Veterinary Hospital reserves the right to limit or discontinue new enrollment at any time.
Q: Are you ready to enroll your pet?
