In-House Diagnostic Suite
X-rays are one of our most powerful diagnostic tools. Our state-of-the-art digital x-rays allow our doctors to quickly and accurately diagnose a wide variety of conditions. From signs of heart disease to accessing the location and severity of fractures, tumors, and arthritis or detecting foreign bodies your pet may have ingested, the clear, detailed information digital x-rays provide helps our doctors to choose the best course of treatment for your pet. And, when necessary, your pet’s digital x-rays can be quickly submitted to a board-certified radiologist for review.
Diagnostic Laboratory
Having a state-of the-art diagnostic laboratory on site allows us to quickly evaluate your pets’ health. This is very valuable any time a pet is ill as well as prior to anesthesia. For the critical patient, we can draw a blood sample and have results in the span of a few short minutes.
We perform routine tests for numerous reasons. For our canine companions, we run an annual test which will detect the presence of heartworms and three common tick-borne diseases, all which are prevalent in our area. Our feline friends are screened for feline leukemia (FELV), feline immunosuppressive virus (FIV) as well as heartworms. These diseases can cause serious illnesses. If your pet is on a long-term medication, blood tests will help us monitor their effectiveness and check for any adverse effects on their kidneys or liver.
